Nottinghome Builders is built on the 30-plus years of experience of its owner, Tom Osfar. A native to Minnesota was born into a hands-on family.  Tom learned the craft of construction as a young boy early on from his father. He later became a much sought-after craftsman on Chicago's North Shore, working for prominent families, developers and general contractors. Honing his ability to wear several hats at the same time, Tom was able to use his skills in multiple trades on the large renovation projects Chicago had to offer.   Returning to Minnesota, Tom's primary focus became new construction.

Undoubtedly, you've heard and read plenty about quality construction. It can't be overstated. But equally important is the overall design and plan of your house. Before the ground is broken, a whole series of considerations must be studied. For instance, where on the lot should the house be placed for the best drainage, view and use of the land? Which construction techniques and materials should be considered for the style of home?  Inside, how can the owners be provided with a healthy environment,  and how often should the air be recirculated? The answers to these questions don't come from books. They come from experience.

Of course, to really test a home you have to spend time in it. You have to run your hand over the polished wood millwork.  Admire the view from the kitchen. Test out the precision-hung doors. Only then will you discover the true character of the home — and the character of its builders.
